The weather report for the game shows: Tonight: Mostly cloudy. Showers developing late. Low of 54. Winds: E 5-10 mph.
Series leader: Steelers have won the last 41 out of 71 games, leaving the Titans with only 30 winnings, but the Titans have won four out of the last five games, this is including the memorable 34-31 overtime victory in the divisional round of the 2002 playoffs.
Tennessee might use wide receiver Nate Washington to try to get that vertical passing game going, we imagine he will play but might be limited. Some people are down on running back Willie Parker, but I think he will remain a workhorse, and this is a great first test for the post-Albert Haynesworth Titans defensive line.
Since the NFL began the season on Thursday with the Kickoff game, the home team has won six of seven times. The Steelers won in their only appearance in the annual Thursday night opener at home against the Dolphins in 2006. … Tennessee did not lose its first game last season until Week 12. … The Steelers have not lost a season-opener since 2002.
Remember the game is at 8:30 PM EST and it will be televised by NBC.
