Eagles Should Roll Against the Bucs

Philly coach Andy Reid, a man coaches in perhaps the most demanding market in the league, has a tough decision ahead in the 2009 NFL schedule. Does he rush QB Donovan McNabb back for this week’s game against the down-trodden Bucs or give him another week to heal and go with the sensational back up, Kevin Kolb?

In a normal market Kolb gets the start against a rotten Tampa team that may not win a game this year. But in Philly, where a new QB controversy arises –real or imagined- every other week this decision has major implications for the 2009 NFL schedule and perhaps beyond.

Kolb has been fantastic in filling in and the Eagles offense has flown high. Averaging 360 yards a game and a 96 passer rating as a starter he’s put up better NFL football betting numbers than almost anyone in league the past two weeks.

But if McNabb is healthy he’ll get the start. And he should, but the grey hairs will sprout for Reid if McNabb is at 75-80% healthy. He’ll have a very difficult NFL football betting decision to make, but that’s why he’s paid so handsomely.

Regardless, for NFL football odds fans, whoever starts at QB for Philly will have little consequence on the game’s outcome. Either McNabb or Kolb will shred the Bucs defense which is giving up 27 points and nearly 400 yards a game.

On offense the Bucs are even more inept, piling up just 229 total yards in their latest loss.

The Eagles will embarrass this Tampa team even if Reid lined himself up under center. It will be another loss for the hapless Bucs.
