Cards Look to Continue Run at Panthers
In case you missed the beginning games of the 2009 NFL schedule, the Arizona Cardinals are now one of the hottest teams in the NFC and in first place in their division. The notoriously slow-starting Red Birds have finally seemed to found their groove and after a beat down of the Giants in New York will look to continue their red hot run at home against a struggling Panthers squad.
Make no mistake the Panthers are an awful team and lucky to be 2-4 in the 2009 NFL schedule. This should be a feast for the Cards who have made massive strides on defense this season and now that the offense is clicking should be a force in the post season.
The defending NFC champion Cards (4-2) looked as impressive as any team in NFL football betting in the recent win over New York and despite a rotten start to the season are playing at a very high level.
The one caveat in this NFL football odds equation is that Arizona is 1-2 at home this season, but it seems highly unlikely they won’t be 2-2 after this weekend. The team ranks first in the NFL football odds in run defense (just 67 ypg) and seventh in overall defense (allowing just 18 ppg).
On offense Kurt Warner and his receivers are finally on the same page averaging nearly 27 points to back up the suddenly stalwart defense and RB Beanie Wells finally seems to be getting comfortable.
Unfortunately for Panthers’ fans there is no reason for optimism. If it weren’t for JeMarcus Russell Jake Delhomme would be by far the worst QB in the league and his incompetence handcuffs the offense.
The Cards will win easily.
