Considering the Cowboys were coming off a last-second loss in the opener of their $1.15 billion stadium, a crowd of 90,588 was especially tense until the defense put the game away. The biggest sigh of relief likely came from team owner Jerry Jones.

Plaxico Burress begins sentence in gun case

The one time Super Bowl hero Plaxico Burress was sentenced to two years in prison yesterday for violating New York’s stringent gun laws and was immediately taken into custody following his hearing.

He agreed to a plea deal last month and pleaded guilty to a lesser firearms charge. The charges stemmed from an incident last fall, in which Plaxico accidentally shot himself at a Manhattan nightclub with a gun that had not been licensed in New York. Read more…

Preview Tennessee Titans vs. Pittsburgh Steelers

The last time they meet was last year on week 16, the Titans routed the Steelers, 31-14 to secure home field advantage throughout the playoffs. Which didn’t make any difference because the Titans didn’t made a good postseason game… On their records the Titans have won four of the last five matchups, this is including the memorable 34-31 overtime win in the divisional round of the 2002 playoffs.
